On assignment in Nairobi, Kenya, 2018
“Detailed and compelling reporting.”
— “Highly commended”, British Press Awards, 2020
For more than 15 years I have been fortunate enough to work for some of the world's most prestigious news organisations. I was the BBC's Silicon Valley correspondent from 2015-2019, before joining the Financial Times to cover Amazon and other giants. Since early 2023 I have been Bloomberg's US technology columnist, based in New York City.
I have interviewed some of the most influential names in the technology industry, including Satya Nadella, Andy Jassy, Jack Dorsey, Dara Khosrowshahi, Tim Berners-Lee, Brian Chesky and many others.
My work has also seen me cover major non-tech breaking news, including mass shootings in Las Vegas, Uvalde and San Bernardino, as well as wildfires in California.
🎧 In 2019 I spoke with the acclaimed Media Masters podcast about my work. Listen to the episode here 🎧
